When they came to market, the new BMW F80 M3 and BMW F82 M4Â have not only impressed everyone with their performance but also with their looks. Very rarely a new BMW gets by without by criticized for its design and from what we have seen, the two M brothers passed that test with flying colors.
There is however one small issue a lot of people have with a certain part of the car’s exterior. It’s the rear diffuser which leaves something to be desired. This is where many aftermarket companies come in play by designing carbon-fiber-based diffusers.
Tuning-shop RKP created a carbon fiber rear diffuser which perfectly matches, not only the rear-end design of the new M3/M4 but also the beautiful Yas Marina Blue color.
The aftermarket RKP diffuser was designed with full length fins that reach all the way from the inside of the insert to their termination point at the rear of the bumper. The fins are particularly thin, and although this makes them especially difficult to manufacture, their appearance is more purposeful and athletic. Unlike the BMW performance diffuser, RKP’s fins extend all the way to the edge of the diffuser, giving them a much more noticeable look in all of the right areas.
The RKP M3/4 diffuser has been in development for over three months with a specific focus on fit and finish. After several revisions, they have carefully sculpted what they believe to be a truly perfect fitting part. This was no easy feat, as working with the complex rear bumper shape and creating a component that would be durable, strong, lightweight, and integrate perfectly with the original BMW mounting took special care and attention to detail. After that was done, the part fits seamlessly into the rear of the vehicle.
This is yet another alternative to BMW Performance Parts, alongside other aftermarket aero products companies like Vorsteiner who already released their solutions for the newest generation of BMW’s sport sedans.
