The Heat Testing team at BMW travels to one of the hottest places on the planet, as they aim to ensure that a BMW can be driven anywhere in the world. Death Valley region is one of the lowest point in the Western hemisphere. The depth of the depression is partly responsible for the extreme high temperatures, which can exceed 130°F in summer, a perfect testing setup for many automakers.
And that’s why BMW and other automakers use it for testing.
Interesting enough is also the fact that BMW is opening its doors one more time letting us into their testing process.
