The 2015 BMW M4 begins its public test trials and heads to BMW’s famous testing track at Nurburgring.
The M version of the 3 Series Coupe (and future 4 Series) gets a new moniker: M4. The iconic coupe will sport the usual M design cues: wide track, M front bumper with large air intakes, large brakes, signature four exhaust pipes and side gills.
Under the hood, the M3 and M4 variants will be powered by an inline-six turbo unit that is likely to produce around 450 horsepower. It remains unknown if BMW will offer a 3.0 or 3.2 liter displacement.
The engine is expected to be mated to a dual-clutch transmission, but we won’t be surprised if a manual box will be offered for the U.S. customers.
We anticipate a market debut in the second half of 2014.
