In Detroit, BMW announced the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible would get some new enhancements for its waning years, namely the Lifestyle Edition. This new edition will bring new exclusive paints and adds upscale interior touches such as deviated stitching with fine wood trim. The 1 Series Convertible now has an available brown soft-top with silver pigmentation catches and reflects the light in a, well, interesting manner.
For 2013 BMW will sell the 128i with the last normally aspirated 3.0 liter inline-six that produces 230 hp and has a base price of $31,200 add $5,700 if you want the drop top. If you want to add the Limited Edition it’ll set you back $2,700.
In the 128i Convertible Limited Edition displayed at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show 0-60 is achieved in 7.07 seconds. If you were to opt for the manual transmission, 0-60 is 6.4 seconds. EPA mileage is 18/28 for the manual transmission and 18/27 for the automatic.
BMW also offers the 135i Coupe and Convertible, as well as the 135i Coupe and 135is convertible. The 135is convertible has a lofty MSRP of $47,950 but for that you get a much more powerful 320 hp turbo charged motor, some killer body cladding and wheels.
