The 2013 Chicago Auto Show kicked off this week and BMW has a large presence in the Windy City. As we mentioned yesterday, the stars at the BMW booth are the new M6 Gran Coupe, the Z4 Facelift and in our opinion, the future great seller, BMW 320i.
The BMW fleet also consists of the new F31 3 Series Sports Wagon, F30 3 Series sedan, the high-seller X1, 7 Series Facelift, M5 sedan, M6 Coupe, X3, X6 (all blacked out), 650i Gran Coupe and 5 Series with M Performance Parts.
While the M6 Gran Coupe and Z4 in Valencia Orange stand out with their design and flashiness, the 320i takes the centerstage.
Sporting a TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine, the new BMW 320i Sedan goes on sale in late-Spring 2013 with a price tag of $33,445. The 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine produces 180 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 200 lb-ft of torque from 1,250 rpm – 4,500 rpm. 0-60 mph acceleration for the 320i Sedan is estimated to require only 7.1 seconds with either transmission choice. Top speed is an electronically-limited 130 mph
Along with the new 320i Sedan, the BMW 320i xDrive Sedan featuring BMW’s intelligent all-wheel drive system will also be available from $35,445 (including $895 Destination & Handling).
Preliminary fuel consumption estimates for the 320i with 6-speed manual transmission are 22 City / 34 Highway, while 23 City / 33 Highway are estimated for the 320i equipped with 8-speed automatic. The 320i xDrive model is expected to achieve 22 City / 33 Highway.
All these numbers point to a huge success on the market for the 320i models which will give BMW a significant sales boost in North America.
