Next month BMW will unveil a new concept. Built on the BMW Concept Active Tourer revealed in Paris last year, the new prototype, dubbed BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, targets a new demographic that enjoys outdoor and leisure activities.
BMW says the “Concept Active Tourer Outdoor combines comfort and dynamic design with a high level of spatial functionality and intelligent access to BMW ConnectedDrive services.”
The new concept will debut at the the exhibition OutDoor 2013 in Friedrichshafen.
The first FWD BMW and multi-purpose vehicle versions (MPV) of small family cars, the BMW Concept Active Tourer will come to market within two years and will compete against a similar offering from Mercedes-Benz and its B-Class vehicles.
When introduced at Paris Motor Show, the concept car featured a plug-in hybrid platform with the eDrive architecture paired with a 3-cylinder 1.5 liter gasoline engine.
