Road and Track puts their long-term BMW M6 Gran Coupe loaner through an intensive testing session.
Alex Nunez of R&T says the BMW M6 Gran Coupe ran from 0 to 60 mph in JUST 3.9 seconds, 0 to 100 mph came in 8.6 seconds while the quarter mile number shows an impressive 12.1 seconds at 120 mph. Even more impressive is the fact that the M6 GC came with the 6-speed manual transmission.
They call the M6 Gran Coupe, simply “ridiculous”, with a positive connotation.
Under the hood, BMW fitted the S63Tü high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology that produces 412 kW/560 hp and 680 Newton metres (502 lb-ft) on tap between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm, while maximum output is developed between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. The engine revs to a maximum of 7,200 rpm. 0-60mph is achieved in 4.1 seconds with a top speed limited to 155mph. The engine is matted to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission.
BMW M6 Gran Coupe went on sale this spring and has a base price $113,000.
