AutoExpress UK test drives and reviews the new BMW 420d.
The entry-level BMW 420d is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 184 HP @ 4000 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque @ 1750–2750 RPM (380Nm). The fuel consumption is rated at 50 mpg or 4.7 L/100Km.
Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) comes in 7.5 seconds.
Just like the F30 3 Series, the 4 Series Coupe is offered with pre-defined “Lines” of options, in this case, Modern (in Europe), Luxury, Sport and M Package. The 4 Series Coupe comes with a choice of rear-wheel drive or xDrive drivetrain.
The BMW 420d is currently only offered in Europe and it remains to be seen if it will make its way over the ocean.
