In less than a week, the F80 BMW M3 will make its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. BMWBLOG will bring you live coverage from the show and exclusive interviews with BMW M engineers and designers. In the mean time, F80 M3 and F82 M4 prototypes continue to be tested in Europe and today, for the first time, we have a chance to see the new M3 with the Sakhir Orange paint job.
Two new colors are also introduced for the new M3 and potentially M4: Yas Marina Blue Metallic and Austin Yellow Metallic. The other exterior colors for the M3 and M4 are: Alpine White, Mineral Grey Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Silverstone Metallic and Mineral White Metallic.
The new M3 and M4 use a 3 liter turbocharged engine that produces 430 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. The car weighs under 1,500 kg (3,300 lbs).
From 0-100 km/h (0-62), the 2014 BMW M4 runs in 4.1 seconds with DCT while the M3 runs the same distance in 4.3 seconds, with the same transmission.
U.S. pricing will be announced in early 2014, but in the UK the prices for the M3 sedan start at £56,175, while the M4 Coupe starts at £56,653.
