BMWBLOG went to Las Vegas to experience and test drive the new BMW 435i Convertible.
BMW 4 Series Convertible has a folding three piece hard top which debuted at the LA Auto Show. The top is now able to retract while moving at speeds up to 11mph. This is a huge change from the previous which had to be stationary to retract.
The new 4 Series Convertible not only shed up to 44 lbs but now is lower, longer and wider than the outgoing 3 Series Convertible. BMW managed to engineer more trunk space too when the top is down.
At launch, the engine range of the 4 Series Convertible will be as following: 435i Convertible, 428i, 420d and 430d. Later, the model range will expand with the 420i and 435d xDrive variants.
Under the hood, the new BMW 435i sports the same N55 engine as the 435i Coupe, 306 horsepower coming from a six-cylinder. The Audi S5 Cabrio outputs 333 horsepower from a V6 engine.
The new 4 Series Convertible goes on sale this Spring with a starting price of $55,825.
Check back soon for our test drive of the 2014 BMW 435i Convertible.
