With just a few months before its official market launch, BMW i8 continues to show up at auto shows around the country. The first progressive hybrid sportscar is in display at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show featuring the Crystal White color.
BMW i8 can be specified in a choice of four colors, three of which have been created exclusively for BMW i. All the paint finishes provide a striking contrast to the black belt: Ionic Silver, Crystal White and Sophisto Grey.

Along with many tech innovations in the space, the i8 will be offered with laser light technology.
The optional high-beam headlights with laser light technology includes a typical BMW i U-shaped frame, from which the running lights and the built-in indicators are operated. A second, wide light frame surrounds the innovative laser light unit and emphasizes its three-dimensionality. a passively lit blue band signalizes the lighting unit’s innovative technology. In the equipment with laser light, the headlights have a brilliant metallic side cover rather than a dark one.
Ian Robertson, Head of Sales and Marketing at BMW, said the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car due to be introduced in mid-2014 has sold out for its first year of availability. Robertson did not say how many the company will sell in that first year.
In Germany, the BMW i8 starts at €126,000, while in the UK it will cost £ 99,125. The U.S. market will also get the BMW i8 in 2014 at a base price of $135,700.
BMW’s first hybrid sportscar will be introduced in early 2014.
