BMW Instagram page just announces the official unveil of the new BMW X4. The second BMW Sports Activity Coupe will be unveiled on March 6th, right after the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The BMW X4 follows the same design trends as the new BMW X5 and the facelifted X3, with a front-grille sporting 3D kidney look as well as “squared” circular headlights. The high gloss frame of the grille is open to the sides and at its lower extreme, lending it an almost “floating” appearance in the center of the nose. The grille features prominently sculptured bars with ultra-stylish detailing.
The X4 uses the same platform as the BMW X3 with a body length of 183 inches (4,648 mm), a width of 75.4 inches (1,915 mm) and a height of 63.9 inches (1,622 mm).
2014 BMW X4 will be offered with standard rear-wheel drive and optional xDrive, while engine lineup will be taken from the X3. Examples of models include a gasoline 240 hp (179 kW) 2.0-liter, a 181 hp (135 kW) diesel and a more powerful inline-six 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo with 330 hp (224 kW).
Stay tuned next week for the official photos!
