European Auto Source brings us a new exciting project based off the E90 BMW M3.
The owner of this Frozen White wrapped E90 M3 wanted everything done in one fell swoop. So many components of this 2008 BMW M3 have been replaced or upgraded that it’s essentially a brand new car.
The first order of business was strapping this sedan to the EAS Dynojet to see what kind of power it was making. In its stock form, this 2008 M3 recorded 332whp and 256wtq, which based on dynoing hundreds of M3s is on the lower end of the spectrum.
To “fix” the issue, EAS installed a ESS Tuning VT2-625 intercooled supercharger system. To help the supercharger make even more power, the restrictive OEM exhaust system was swapped for an Eisenmann Race muffler mated to a Macht Schnell Race catless x-pipe. After the installation and some 95 octane fuel, this M3 recorded 566whp and 364wtq, which is a very substantial gain of 234whp and 108wtq.
Pushing this kind of power, the car was now in need of better brakes and suspension. A set of Ohlins Road & Track DFV coilovers paired with Ground Control adjustable camber plates was the perfect suspension upgrade for this high-performance sedan. To further improve power delivery and stiffen up the ride, EAS installed a full set of Macht Schnell solid aluminum bushing in the subframe as well as the differential. Yellow StopTech brakes, consisting of 6-Piston calipers with 380mm rotors in front and 4-Piston calipers with 355mm rotors in the rear, will effortlessly stop this M3 from any speed while looking great behind the HRE P40 wheels.
Inside, EAS removed the old iDrive system and upgraded to the newer CIC version. An AWRON Kompressor 1 digital gauge display was installed in the dash to monitor the supercharger’s boost level as well as engine temps, oil pressure, g-forces and more. Because this M3 is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, a Rogue Engineering OCTANE short shift kit was instaled in combination with a billet aluminum Ultimate Clutch Pedal, which both allow for quicker and more controlled shifts.
