Akrapovic has taken their brand new exhaust system for a BMW F82 M4 to United States! This is the first Akrapovic powered car over here and will serve as a promotion tool for their exhaust system products on this side of the pond.
We’ve already heard how this exhaust system sounds, but this is the first instance of the same system being installed on a project vehicle in US. This slip-on exhaust system is made out of titanium and adds bigger pipes compared to the exhaust system thus providing lower back pressure and more power. This is specially significant on lower RPM’s where the exhaust note is amplified and provides a deeper sounding engine compared to the stock system.
This system is a completely new design, and it will reduce overall vehicle weight and deliver extra power and a sporty sound, which has been tailored to highlight lower frequencies and increase the listening enjoyment. Increases in both power and torque add to the sensory experience, combined with improved agility. The look of the Slip-On system can also be further enhanced by adding titanium or carbon- tailpipes and the stunning carbon – rear diffuser.
The exhaust system adds 5.4kW at 4400RPM compared to the stock system. Torque is increased by 17.4Nm at 2350RPM. It also weighs 3.3 kilograms less than what comes with the BMW M4 from the factory as well. You can definitely appreciate the performance increase, all while getting a better sounding BMW M4 in the same product.
