Improving your BMW’s stance by lowering the car is the modification choice for many owners out there. While the BMW 4 Series Convertible and BMW 4 Series Coupe have the lowest ride height in the BMW lineup, excluding the M cars, the overall stance and aesthetics can still be improved. This is where aftermarket suspension solutions like the product selection from KW Suspension comes into play.
According to many owners out there, a KW Coilover suspension system greatly improves handling, allows for a lowered vehicle with pin-point accuracy while allowing them to obtain custom aftermarket wheels that provide the additional personalization touch for their cars.
KW Suspension just released information on their V1, V2 and V3 coilovers for the BMW 4 Series Convertible (F33) which greatly improves the driving dynamics and also the stance with a German TÜV-approved, lowering up to 65mm on the front and rear axle. “With KW coilovers fitted drivers will benefit from technology that is derived from our motorsport department onto the road”, explains KW product manager Johannes Wacker. “Lots of BMW racecars like the BMW Z4 FR3 and M325i Racing Cup are equipped with KW dampers, and similar to motorsport suspensions the Variant 3 benefits from adjustable rebound and compression damping.”
The rebound can be adjusted with 16 exact clicks using the upper end of the piston rod. With adjustment of the compression damping, the BMW’s basic setup can be altered to adjust the rolling motion of the body without having to alter the rebound rates. Rebound can also be adjusted with 16 clicks on the KW Variant 2 coilover, whereas the KW Variant 1 system has the damping pre-set from the factory and cannot be adjusted.
Drivers who want to achieve a balance between sporty handling and daily driveability will find the Variant 1 perfect for their driving needs. All three KW coilover kits are made of stainless steel and enable a continuous lowering of 40 to 65 millimeter at both axles. Soon, the KW coilovers will be available for 4 Series Convertible with BMW xDrive.
