Hybrid sportscars are here to stay. After the BMW i8, Porsche 918 Spyder and LaFerrari, it is now time for a new exciting hybrid: Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 Concept.
The mid-engine Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 is being unveiled today at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and brings a series of technology innovations to the market. The first gasoline-electric hybrid Lamborghini is a four-drive vehicle that can travel 31 miles on electricity alone. It combines a 5.2-liter V10 and seven-speed DSG from the Huracán (610 hp) to a trio of electric motors (300 hp) to bring total output up an impressive 910 hp.
This is the most powerful Lamborghini on the market and a direct competitor to the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari. It runs from 0 to 62 mph in 3 seconds and has a top speed of 199 mph, or up to 78 mph in pure electric mode.
The hybrid supercar not only stands out with its impressive power, but also with the striking sharp lines and aggressive look. Overall the design is closer to the Huracan than the Aventador.
Interesting are also the the doors which open more out than up, something in between the Huracán’s conventional portals and the Aventador’s scissors.
