When this time of the year comes, many automotive shops are in high gear and scrambling all around. It’s SEMA time and the upcoming event is producing lots of stress and even shorter deadlines. One of the companies preparing a project car for SEMA did manage to make it on time without experiencing too much hassle.
Precision Sport Industries are taking to SEMA a lovely Sakhir Orange BMW F82 M4 with an abundance of aftermarket performance and tuning parts installed. To many, Sakhir Orange is one of the favorite color finishes BMW offers with the current generation performance coupe and PSI managed to further elevate the exterior appearance. Combined with performance modifications, together with fully custom created safety equipment and parts, this M4 will definitely raise a few eyebrows at this event.
PSI first addressed the visual upgrades, dominated by a complete Vorsteiner GTS F8X aero program. This high-quality product is slowly becoming a fan favorite.
“With this foundation to work from, we laid out the plans even before the M4 arrived at our doorstep. Working with several companies, the outline came together in stages. While the initial version with Volk TE37 SL wheels and H&R springs was sufficient at first, the best was most definitely yet to come. By the time Vorsteiner had released their carbon fiber GTS aero front spoiler and rear diffuser, it was game time.” – Precision Sport Industries
Combining the visual aspects is best done with performance modifications. PSI was able to establish a partnership with BC Racing, who’s suspension was built specially for this project. Lowering is just a part of the equation, with the added suspension stiffness and performance providing the extra sportiness the driver wants from his car.
“At the same time, we addressed ride height and stance by reaching out to our friends at BC Racing, who supplied us with their prototype system for testing purposes. So far we can reveal that the ride quality is wonderfully supple, and we are still in the process of dialing in the best spring rate and camber plate setup for various street and track functions. This is the first step in developing the Triple Adjustable setup on the F8x platform, and the finished product will be hitting the market soon.” – Precision Sport Industries
The complete modifications list for this build is definitely long. PSI paid close attention to both performance and visual aspects, without sacrificing safety. From the Brembo Big Brake Kit to the custom easy-remove roll-bar  and to the racing seats and racing seatbelts, this build covers a lot of the areas needed for a successful and safe track car.
