Each year, European Auto Source competes in the European Car Magazine Tuner GP with one of their project BMW cars. They have previously entered with a supercharged E92 M3 and a supercharged E86 Z4M, but this was the first year EAS showed up with a turbocharged car. They entered the contest with a beautiful Austin Yellow BMW F82 M4.
With their M4 putting down 559 hp and 605 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels, it is safe to assume that some some changes were made prior to the event, all in order to help this beast handle the race track. The upgrades include track day ready features and performance parts that assure this vehicle can compete with the other vehicles attending, while also improving safety.
While lowering springs are perfect for the street, the track demands a bit more. This is why they opted for a set of KW Clubsport 2-way adjustable coilovers. The new coilovers enabled European Auto Source to dial-in the optimal settings for the highly technical Streets of Willow Raceway. These also provide the much needed lowering to adjust the vehicle and assure it sits closer to the ground to improve performance in cornering.
Next, the team installed a front/rear Brembo GT big brake kit for better stopping power and fade-free performance. A set of aftermarket wheels was next in line, the strong and lightweight 18″ Apex EC-7 wheels.
These are wrapped in the Continental Extreme Contact DW tires, a great selection for high-performance track events like the European Car Tune GP.
Before the race, the company’s racing driver, Jordan Yost, took the M4 for a spin on the track. “Just like every other year we’ve competed, we drove our M4 to and from the event to prove that it’s a double duty street/track weapon,” says Yost of Yost Autosport.
This build will be showcased in the European Car Tuner GP issue that will hit newsstands sometime early next year, but for now you can check out these exclusive photos and video from the event right below.
