A throatier exhaust note. Probably the only thing wanted by new BMW F82 M4 owners after they pick up their new toys. Thankfully, there are a few companies out there that can grant just that wish, making a lot of owners happy. IND Distribution has recently worked on a BMW M4 to enhance its looks and performance.
The project is still in its early stages of modification, but is currently outfitted with a BMW Performance front lip and rear diffuser, and a BMW Performance trunk spoiler.
This week they have proudly added one of the first Eisenmann exhaust systems in the country, to give this M4 the bark and personality it deserves.
The quad exhaust pipes added in the rear, together with carbon fiber details on the rear diffuser work quite well together in accentuating the performance nature of this M4. Despite the completely different power delivery compared to the previous generation M3, the new twin-turbo engine in the BMW M3 and BMW M4 is superior in any way … except the exhaust note. Many consider the ecological restraints and CO2 emissions as the main culprit behind an understated exhaust sound. On the other hand, the forced induction allows the performance cars to sprint from low revs and attain a linear power delivery throughout.
That being said, even though it offers less cylinders and a smaller displacement compared to the previous generation models, a 4.0 liter V8 vs 3.0L straight-six, the new engine and its two turbochargers give it even more oomph than before.
At the same time, this is done while reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy. The torque also sees a significant hike, 110lb ft to 405lb ft between 1850rpm and 5500rpm. Use of lightweight materials slashes the kerb weight by 83kg to 1497k (3300 lbs) for the manual transmission. The M-DCT gearbox adds 40 kg over the six-speed manual. Good for a sprint from 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds with this vehicle.
The 2015 BMW M4 has a base price $64,200. Destination and handling is $925. The European Delivery price for the M4 starts at $59,755.
