Watch below an onboard video with Inge Hansesaetre around Nürburgring Nordschleife in an ESS Supercharged BMW E46 M3. At the of the lap, Hansesaetre set a personal record of 7:30 minutes with traffic and speed limits.
The excellent video shows amazing driving and foot work. The E46 M3 runs on slick tires and uses a standard gearbox, but with a 4.10 gear in the differential. Even with the speed limits, the E46 M3 made it into the unofficial Top 30 fastest lap times at the Nurburgring, at the same level as the Mercedes SLS AMG GT and quicker than the Porsche 911 GT2.
The driver says he had to lift the foot of the pedal in three places. There’s a 200 km/h speed limit on the way up to flugplatz (0:50 in this video) and 250 km/h after flugplatz (1:09 in this video) and the last place is the long straight where it’s also a 250km/h limit (6:52 in the video). Without the limits, the driver says another 4-5 seconds could have been shaved off.
