The ABS Pro system has already been available on some of BMW’s top end motorcycles, such as, the R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure and has been standard equipment on the K 1600 GT and GTL. Today BMW announced that they will make the system available for the S 1000 RR sport bike as a retro fit for models from 2012-2014, as they did for the highly exclusive HP4 sport bike back in 2014.
The system is designed to provide more safety by further preventing brake lock-up while the bike is in a corner. This enables the rider to do what is generally perceived by motorcyclists as a ‘no, no’, to brake whilst leaning the bike in a turn.
The system will be made available for newer S 1000 RR models in the future and will include the ‘Race’ riding mode. This mode is, of course, better suited to racing conditions than the ‘Rain’ or ‘Sport’ modes.
ABS Pro is therefore available for the following BMW Motorrad models now:
