The former “Tonight Show” host – Jay Leno – teams up with actor Laurence Fishburne for a lively look at BMW automobiles and motorcycles, past and present. The segment takes place at the new West Coast BMW Performance Driving Center at The Thermal Club, a premier private motorsports facility, in Thermal, CA.
During the episode – which aired Wednesday, October 21 at 10 p.m. on CNBC-TV – Jay and “Fish” drive up to the Thermal BMW Performance Center in a BMW i8, where they are greeted by BMW Performance Center Manager Dan Gubitosa. The duo then heads to the autocross course to challenge each other aboard 2015 BMW M4s with former professional racer and BMW Performance Center lead driving instructor Matt Mullins.
From four wheels the pair moves to two as BMW collector Peter Nettesheim shows off a 1953 BMW R 68 motorcycle and a 1975 BMW R 90 S, while discussing the history of BMW Motorrad. Adding even more excitement is racer Nate Kern, who introduces Jay and “Fish” to the super power of the 2015 BMW S 1000 RR superbike.
