In 2008, Gerry Nasution from Jakarta bought a BMW 316i, second generation (E30). He modified the standard production car and tried to make a racing car out of it. Until now, he has won over 120 races.
The E30 316i makes around 100 horsepower from a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine, but with the proper chassis and suspension tuning it can become a winner on the track.
Yet that wasn’t enough so, according to Nasution, he also swapped out the engine in favor of a 250 horsepower unit.
Nasution also takes pride in his winnings since he could have easily chosen an E30 M3 – a far more capable track car.
