BMW released yesterday its newest offering, the G 310 R. The new bike brings BMW prestige and quality to those looking for a smaller displacement motorcycle. Brand enthusiasts should be reassured by BMW Motorrad CEO, Stephan Schaller’s remarks yesterday that “buying a BMW motorcycle means investing in an exclusive recreational product.”
In conjunction with this announcement, BMW confirmed some details about another upcoming model.
This new, upcoming motorcycle will be a “Heritage” bike and will be “placed alongside” the R nineT, which has been a very successful model. This new model will be a Scrambler and is said to utilize less expensive materials, enabling it to carry a lower MSRP. The Path 22 Concept motorcycle gave us an insight into what the new Scrambler might look like. Currently, fellow premium brands Ducati and Triumph both produce a Scrambler. Ducati is likely to expand its Scrambler sub-brand very soon, according to a new teaser video from the Italians.
BMW added that “there will be new things to see and discover with regard to the BMW F series.” Speaking for myself, I cannot wait to see this new Scrambler as well as real life photos of the G 310 R but, thankfully, the wait won’t be long with both models debuting at the EICMA show in Milan this November on the 17th.
