German tuning house AC Schnitzer has built over the years a great reputation in the aftermarket scene and nearly every new BMW gets their special treatment. The facelifted 2016 BMW 3 Series Sedan makes no exception. AC Schnitzer program for the 3 Series includes an aero kit, interior upgrades and a power boost.
The aero kit includes a new front lip, carbon mirror covers, rear roof spoiler and rear deck spoiler. A rear skirt protective film is also part of the offering along with the AC Schnitzer black stripes.
Completing the exterior modifications are the new AC1 alloy wheel line in either BiColor or anthracite and in 18-, 19-, and 20-inch sizes. The Type IV and Type VII rims in a silver finish and 18-inches size are also avvailable. Meanwhile, the Type VII BiColor forged alloys are available in up to 21-inch sizes.
Inside, the 3 Series by AC Schnitzer gets some mild upgrades – “Black Line” aluminum cover, gear knobs and brake handle, redesigned aluminum pedal set and footrest, and velour floor mats.
AC Schnitzer is offering a variety of engine upgrades for different variants of the 3 Series. Depending on the base powertrain, the diesel engines of models ranging from the 316d all the way to the 335d has been tweaked to receive anywhere from 139 horsepower all the way up to 360 horsepower. AC Schnitzer said that upgrades for the 330i and 340i variants will be available soon, since both are still “in development”.
The German tuning shop is also offering silencers in twin tailpipe variants. Customers are free to choose the design of the silencers from “Racing Evo”, “Sport” or “Sport Black”.
To improve the ride dynamics, customers can choose between a fully height- adjustable AC Schnitzer Racing suspension with adjustable compression and rebound settings – dropping the height from 1.18 inches to 1.6 inches – and a sports suspension kit that draws the body closer to the surface by 0.98 to 1.18 inches at the front and 0.79 inches to 0.98 inches at the back.
