This week’s spotlight fell on BMW’s 100th birthday celebration and on the new and highly visionary BMW VISION NEXT 100 concept. The exciting design and tech-driven project aims to show the future of mobility and the convergence between cars and digital world. In an interview with Automotive News, BMW CEO Harald Krueger says the VISION NEXT 100 hints at BMW’s future direction into increased connectivity.
“At the BMW Group, we are always on a quest for the best solution,” said CEO Harald Krueger. “It is part of our DNA. “Future mobility will connect every area of people’s lives,” Krueger said. “And that’s where we see new opportunities for premium mobility.”
Since he took office last May, Krueger has been steering the company in the direction of the digital world and how it will affect its customers and future products. Next week, BMW will hold its first quarter earnings press event where the C-level executives are expected to announce a major foray into connectivity and digitalization as part of its strategy through 2025.
“For a better quality of life, the BMW Group is going to turn data into intelligence. Soon, our cars will be digital chauffeurs and personal companions. They will anticipate what we want to do and make our lives easier for us.” Think of your personal digital butler who can take care of your daily tasks and even predict future ones.
