Earlier today, we saw the world premiere of the BMW 2002 Hommage concept, a modern interpretation of the classic BMW 2002 Turbo. However, while we were only to see the 2002 Hommage through pictures on a computer screen, some very lucky people were able to see it in person at the Concorso d’Eleganza in the stunning Lake Como, Italy.
The BMW 2002 Hommage was just one part of the beauty at the Concorso d’Eleganza, as the scenery is even more beautiful. However, the 2002 Hommage was one of the premier automobiles on display and fit in perfect with its gorgeous scenery.
BMW designed this 2002 Hommage to harken back to the famous 2002 Turbo that brought the high-performance sport sedan to the mainstream. Based on the BMW 2 Series, the 2002 Hommage is a stunning looking car. Its horizontal carbon fiber that runs the length of the car separates matte and gloss finishes of the Space Race Metallic paint, with the top section being matter and the bottom being gloss. It also has single-circle yellow-tinted headlights to match the original 2002 Turbo and eats familiar M-colored livery in select places. It’s a worthy interpretation of one of BMW’s greatest cars. It’s a very cool look and probably looks incredible under the Lake Como sun.
It’s hard to get an idea of what the beautiful 2002 Hommage looks like in person through pictures on the internet, but these shots of the Concorso d’Eleganza are the closest you can get. So check them out and enjoy the beauty.
