Ever since Youtube launched its 360° video platform, it changed the game. This seems to be the latest craze on the internet and we absolutely love it for the details it provides. If it can also be used for various reviews and, why not, drag races, we’re all in. That’s the case with this latest video from Carwow that shows us a BMW M235i going up against two other coupes. Sort of.
The BMW M235i Coupe is a brilliant car that was replaced this month by the even more powerful BMW M240i. Even so, until we get our hands on the new M Performance model, we’ll have to make due with its predecessor that used a N55 3-liter straight six engine making 326 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Those figures allowed it to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5, 4.8 or 4.6 seconds, depending on whether it was manual, automatic or all-wheel drive.
Going up against it in this video are two of its sort-of rivals. The V8-powered Ford Mustang is definitely the most imposing car here, also coming with a naturally aspirated 5-liter mill under the hood good for up to 421 HP and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque. It is, of course, also the heaviest car here but nevertheless it can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds which makes it a proper rival for the RWD M235i with the 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Last, but definitely not least, the Audi TT comes with all-wheel drive and a 2-liter turbocharged 4-pot mill making 230 HP. It’s also the lightest of the three and has a claimed acceleration time of 5.3 seconds. Therefore, it does seem to be at a slight disadvantage here but you’d be surprised of how well it performed here. Enjoy!
