The BMW F10 5 Series will go out of production this year and the new G30 model will be unveiled early in 2017. However, sales of the 5er are booming around the world, a lot of people probably being reluctant towards what the new model might bring. BMW Malaysia decided to offer its customers a special edition model dubbed BMW 528i M Performance, to celebrate both the end of production for the current model as well as the 100th anniversary of the brand.
The car will be available only on the Malaysian market and, according to the local branch of BMW, it will be built in only 100 units. Don’t think that it’s going to be cheap though. As is the case with limited-run models, the BMW 528i M Performance will cost nearly an arm and a leg. Prices for luxury cars in Malaysia are already high enough, due to a legislation that aims at taxing the rich.
Prices for the Bimmer will start at RM363,800, or some $91,000 at today’s exchange rates. And while it may seem like a lot (and it really is), the standard 528i model without all the goodies, is actually more expensive, starting at RM378,800 or about $94,500 at today’s exchange rates. The 528i M Performance model comes fitted with almost all M Performance add-ons you can get: black kidney grilles, carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts and a boot lid spoiler.

Under the hood, the powerplant remains the same, the 528i M Performance being powered by a 245 HP 2-liter 4-cylinder engine that also makes 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Standard equipment also includes LED headlamps, 19″ light alloy wheels and a Harman Kardon sound system among others.
