Out of the BMW range, the big bruisers are definitely the X5 M and X6 M models, by far. Maybe the M760Li xDrive has more power under its hood, but when it comes to design and pure rawness, the SUVs have it. Seeing a 575 HP X5 in the rear view mirror coming at you with triple digit speeds will definitely get you moving out of the fast lane.
The BMW Abu Dhabi dealership is likely the place where some of the craziest projects have come to life involving aftermarket parts installed from the get go on customer cars. This BMW X5 M sports different upgrades from different companies, but somehow they work. The front bumper is now wearing a 3D Design carbon fiber splitter on the bottom while the same motif continues on the sides with 3D Design side sills and round the back with a diffuser that also came from the Japanese company.
The vented hood is supposed to help cool off the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 and was designed by the guys at Manhart Racing. Up front and on the sides you’ll also notice M Performance parts, like the kidney grilles and the carbon fiber mirror caps. AC Schnitzer also contributed with a set of 22″ forged wheels as well as a new exhaust that further accentuates the throaty growl of the S63 engine under the hood.
Speaking of which, even though the car sports all these good-looking upgrades on the outside, in the engine bay things remained the same. The X5 M still has 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, numbers good enough to send it flying up to 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 4.2 seconds. From then on to the car’s limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) shouldn’t take too long.
