Upon seeing the BMW M4 CS for the first time, we had a good feeling that it would be the Goldilocks variant of the M4. It’s lighter and sharper than the standard car but not as stripped out and crazy as the M4 GTS. So it’s really the best compromise between unbridled performance and everyday usability in the M4 range.
Since its debut, though, we haven’t seen much video on it. There have been a few video reviews but not too many. In this new video from Supercarsfromeu, we get to see the BMW M4 CS up close and personal.
We get a good walk-around in this video, allowing us to see it in its entirety. It’s such a good looking car and is certainly the best looking M4. Especially in San Marino Blue, which is a gorgeous color. If I ever end up buying an M3 or M4, remind me to get San Marino Blue. I also love that little decklid spoiler at the rear.
I also like how it sounds. It has the Competition Package’s exhaust and it sounds very nice. It’s better, in my opinion, than the M4 GTS’, which is just too insane. The Comp Pack’s exhaust isn’t hurting for decibels, though. It’s very loud and has a metallic sort of growl that I like.
Its 3.0 liter twin-turbo I6 engine makes 454 hp and it can get from 0-60 mph in about 3.8 seconds. While the standard M4 gets a manual option, the CS is DCT-only. Though, that’s not such a bad thing, as I find the M4’s character is actually better suited by the DCT. Still, performance is rapid and its handling should be even better than the standard car’s.
The BMW M4 CS gets the same carbon fiber hood and door panels as the M4 GTS. So it does have some impressive weight-savings tech. Though, its interior is actually usable and it doesn’t have a roll cage.
It’s a shame that the M4 CS is limited, as it’s the one to get.
