The second season of the BMW M6 GT3 in international GT racing came to an end in December. The top model from the BMW Motorsport Customer Racing program has claimed numerous wins and titles in a range of race series, including victory in the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium in its 2016 debut. BMW Motorsport now presents a video with over five minutes of race footage and fans’ reactions, showing just how much excitement the BMW M6 GT3 has provided around the globe.
Entitled “BMW M6 GT3 Around the World”, the footage shows fascinating scenes from classic races all around the world – from the Daytona 24 Hours (USA), the 12 Hours of Sebring (USA) and the Bathurst 12 Hour in Australia, to the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (GER) in Europe and the FIA GT World Cup in Macau (CHN), Asia. The video also gives fans the chance to articulate what they find so fascinating about GT racing.
This year the BMW M6 GT3 will be retired and in its place we’ll get to see a brand new model, one that has been expected by fans of the brand for over 20 years. Alongside the unveiling of the new BMW M8 this year, BMW Motorsport will be launching its BMW M8 GTE into battle, the car having already been revealed last year. Despite depriving us from some of the most essential tech specs about it, we now know how it’s going to look.
The car will pick up where the M6 left off and private teams around the world will be able to order it, while teams run by BMW Motorsport will also enter a variety of races. From the 24-hour endurance race at Spa-Francorchamps to the iconic Nurburgring event, we’ll get to see the new M8 in action plenty of times.
