The current BMW M140i will go down in history as one of most fun and engaging compact BMWs, a true rear-wheel drive hot hatch that has only one goal – to put a smile on you. But, as most good things come to an end, the M140i will be replaced by a front-wheel drive M135i which is set to arrive next year.
In the mean time, tuning shops from around the world continue to put out projects based on the M140i hatch. G-Power has just unveiled a new power kit for the M140i which brings the total power output to 440 horsepower from the standard 335 hp. The torque was also raised to 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) from the 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) in standard configuration. The top speed has been increased to 280 km/h (174 mph).
The power increase is achieved through an ECU remap and will cost you €1,848 (equal to $2,180) with installation in Germany.
G-Power offers a more affordable solution also, priced at €1,616 ($1,900) which delivers 394 horsepower.
The power kits are also available for the M240i Coupe, which are using the same engine as the hatchback.
