BMW of North America has issued a recall for approximately 100 model-year 2019 BMW X6 and X6 M SUVs. According to the recall filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear upper control arm pivot bolts may have been improperly hardened, possibly causing the rear upper control arms to break, affecting vehicle handling and control, and increasing the risk of a crash.
BMW says that the dealers will replace both rear upper control arms for free.
BMW will begin notifying owners Nov. 12. Owners can call BMW at 800-525-7417, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
