Announced last week, the BMW ALPINA B4 S Edition 99 is truly a rare and bespoke car, set to offer some chilling experiences to prospective customers. It’s a limited production with only 99 units of them to be made. Today, the Buchloe manufacturer released a promo clip for its latest offering showing the car in all its beauty.
The ALPINA B4 S Edition 99 comes in both Coupe and Convertible guises and the former is available with all-wheel drive which makes it a proper land rocket. That’s because the engine under the hood has been tweaked to deliver 452 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. For a 3-liter straight six mill that’s astounding. It also allows the all-wheel drive Coupe model to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 3.9 seconds.
Go for a different configuration and the numbers change but they are on par with the M4 in most cases. The RWD Coupe model does the same sprint in 4.2 seconds, while the Convertible has a claimed sprint of 4.3 seconds. Therefore, you’re set in a straight line but what about when you have to deal with corners?
ALPINA claims its Sport Plus Suspension will handle everything you throw at it while you’re being entertained by the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system which also sheds some 7 kilos off the hips of these otherwise hefty cars. The EDITION 99 is available in five selected exterior paints. In addition to classic ALPINA Blue, you can also have your car in Grigio Medio and Fire Orange as well as Sapphire Black and Mineral White. Inside the cabin you’ll be able to tell this is no ordinary ALPINA thanks to the new seats, trims and paddle shifters.
