Ah, the Autobahn, that wonderful place where car guys can roam free! That’s definitely how the intricate highway system in Germany is viewed by many enthusiasts. What some may not know is that often these highways are crowded, congested and not exactly ‘unrestricted’. Sure, there are certain areas where you can go all out like the one shown in the video below, as a tuned F90 M5 perfectly shows. However, they are fewer in numbers than one might think.
As for the video below, it shows what is claimed to be a 780 HP M5 tuned by Elmerhaus going all out, in an evident showcase of power and speed. The car has been given some 180 HP on top of the already ridiculous 600 HP it can brag with from factory. Furthermore, the torque numbers have gone up as well, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 claiming 830 Nm instead of the standard 750 Nm. How exactly does that impact performance?
Well, the video claims the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes 3.1 seconds now, instead of 3.3 seconds. Yes, it may seem like a small increase but the truth of the matter is, shaving 0.1 seconds is a lot harder from one point forward, especially if we’re talking about sub-four seconds territory. The video also claims that the top speed of the car has been raised to 200 mph (320 km/h) now even though the speedometer never reaches that value.
There are some other interesting numbers posted by the app on the right side of the screen though. The 0-100 km/h sprint is said to have taken place in 3.16 seconds, which is probably quite doable with the new M xDrive system. The car car also reach twice that speed in 9.77 seconds. The 100-200 km/h sprint takes 6.6 seconds while the 1/4 mile was done in 10.74 seconds. What do you think of those times?
