BMW announced today a few updates for some of its models, coming in strong starting this Spring. The BMW 2 Series range, including the BMW M2, is included on the short list of cars getting upgrades. According to a recent press release, all these models will get dark taillights among other things.
Darkened rear lights will be decorating the rear fascia of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and Convertible models as well as the M2 Competition from March 2019 onward. Furthermore, all Sport Line model and M Sport model variants of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible will now come with a black kidney grille surround, further darkening the color palette of the 2 Series range. Cars fitted with the Sport Line package will also get more choices in the wheels department, BMW introducing new bi-color 17″ and 18″ light-alloy rims on the options list.
For the M Performance models (M240i Coupe, M240i Convertible, M240i xDrive), you can now select 18″ M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design painted in matte Cerium Grey and with mixed-size tires. The six-cylinder models also get the Long Beach Blue color offered as an optional feature, a color previously reserved for the M2. Inside the cabin you get trims in Carbon Fiber throughout the range as well as Dakota leather with contrasting stitching.
The BMW 3 Series GT will apparently also follow the dark taillight trend from March 2019. A couple more details will set apart the GT from the rest of the range as well. The Gran Turismo 3er will have black inserts for the headlights if fitted with Adaptive LED lights while M Sport models get blacked out kidney grille, exhaust tailpipe trims and exterior mirror caps.
