Several BMW online configurators are previewing some important updates to the G30 5 Series. The facelift of the 5er is scheduled for 2020, but the range might get some early upgrades. One of them is the BMW Live Cockpit Professional which brings a 12.3-inches screen behind the steering whee. Off to the right there is another infotainment screen with a 12.3-inch size. The new infotainment system is paired with the latest iDrive 7.0.

The system can include the Connected Package Professional which adds a lot of advanced features such as parking availability, traffic status and that. The graphics on this one can even be adapted to mimic the color of the car. The BMW Cockpit has been radically revised and modernized in 2018 for the launch of new product, like the BMW X5, BMW 8 Series, BMW Z4 and BMW 3 Series, and it’s now making its way into other new models.

The same configurator shows a new M Sports Steering Wheel as well as optional Laser Lights. BMW’s LCI for the 5 Series will arrive next year and it’s expected to bring some mild changes to the exterior design, mostly around the front fascia and kidney grille.
