BMW M and BMW Canada unveiled a special edition BMW M8 today, under the BMW M8 Individual Manufaktur Edition moniker. These special models have been designed exclusively for the Canadian market and will be the first special-edition M8 models in the world. They are based on the BMW M8 Coupe and feature special finishes and craftsmanship that is bound to get your imagination going in a heartbeat.
Only 20 such special BMW M8 Individual Manufaktur Edition models will be made, 10 for each of the only two color choices you can pick from: Fired Red and Frozen Black.
What you should know is that the Fire Red edition is paying homage to the original BMW M8 prototype of the early 1990s so we’re guessing that will be more sought after version. Not that Frozen Black is anything to scoff at, by the way.
“BMW M is delighted to be collaborating with BMW Canada to launch the very first M8 Individual Manufaktur Editions worldwide” stated Marcus Flasch, CEO of BMW M GmbH, adding: “As one of the strongest markets globally for BMW M, Canada is a natural market in which to introduce these ultra-exclusive exclusive flagship models which are poised to fulfill the promise of the original M8 prototype”.
Both special editions will feature Full Merino Leather in an exclusive two-tone Sakhir Orange/Black treatment with Sakhir Orange contrast stitching throughout the cabin.
The cabins will also have a “BMW Individual Manufaktur” inscription on the carbon fiber cupholder and wireless charging tray cover.
On the outside, the entire M Performance catalogue was used to deck the cars with plenty of carbon fiber. You get side skirts, kidney grilles and side air curtain vents all made of the same lightweight material.
Prices start at $198,000 and the cars will only be available at select dealers throughout Canada.
