The BMW M4 is about to go out of production. If you’re looking to buy a BMW M4 before it goes extinct and don’t want to wait for the new one, now’s the time to place your order. To some, the age of the M4 might be a bit of a turn off as it is already five years old, but for the guys over at The Straight Pipes, that’s definitely not the case. They recently reviewed a Competition model in convertible guise and left rather impressed.
Understandably so too as this is one beautifully specced car. On the outside it’s wearing the San Marino Blue while the interior has extended white leather and carbon fiber trims. This being a Competition version, the 2020 BMW M4 Cabriolet comes with Style 666 wheels and they add a bit of panache to the mix as well.
Chip in what looks like the carbon package (carbon air inlets up front, carbon side mirror covers and carbon diffuser/tips at the back) and this thing is a stunner. Talk about how much of a difference optional features make!
On the performance front, the guys are a bit underwhelmed by how the car performs from standstill. Admittedly, this is the convertible which means it’s the heaviest car in the M4 range. Furthermore, it’s rear-wheel drive only and, comparing it with the M340i xDrive, like they do in the video, it is at a disadvantage. Nevertheless, when it comes to handling and having fun, they both agree the 2020 BMW M4 Cabriolet is the one to buy.
That says a lot about the M4 and how it withstood the test of time.
The next G82 BMW M4 won’t be out until late 2020 with sales likely beginning in 2021.
