Arguably the hottest unreleased car from BMW right now is the upcoming BMW M2 CS. The car is already generating massive hype and, in recent weeks, BMW has definitely increased its own rhetoric about it. This proves the launch is just around the corner and the highly anticipated moment will take place next week.
The BMW M boss, Markus Flasch, held a meeting with Australian press representatives not long ago and talked at large about a series of M products. From future plans for BMW M SUVs to powertrains and other areas BMW M is focusing on, we got to learn a lot about upcoming products. If you count it all up, there are about ten new M models to arrive in dealerships in the next two years and that’s impressive.

The BMW M2 CS will be the next big launch and there are already a series of known facts about the car. Firstly, it will follow in the footsteps of its brothers, the BMW M4 CS and M3 CS and be focused mainly on performance via weight reduction. The car is going to be similarly stripped out but don’t think about dramatic changes though. Some aerodynamic elements made of carbon fiber will be visible on the outside while the ceramic brakes will be made available too, as an option.
Under the hood, the S55 engine will be singing to the same tune it has been under the hood of the BMW M4 Competition. That’s to say it will have around 450 HP and 406 lb-ft of torque. The car will be available with Michelin Cup 2 tires. Only four colors are available for the BMW M2 CS – the standard Alpine White and Sapphire Black, then the Hockenheim Silver from the M2 Competition, and a new one – Misano Blue.
Considering Flasch said this will basically be a racecar for the road, we can’t wait to see the end result and how it drives.
