Not all the details about the new 2015 Jaguar XF are known at the moment, but the British automaker plans to unveil the car next week at the 2015 NYC Auto Show. Judging by the early photo release, the new XF would take on the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Just like the Jaguar XE and the sporty R-Type models, the new Jaguar XF uses largely an aluminum-made body, which is said to be 80 kilograms lighter than its main competitors.

The entry-level 163 hp diesel XF will cater to German and European market of corporate and fleet customers, delivering an impressive standard consumption of 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The CO2 emissions of 104 grams per kilometer undercuts the German opponents by a few grams.

The engine range at market launch in Fall 2015 also includes a 180 hp four-cylinder diesel engine, a 300 hp V6 diesel and two six-cylinder petrol engine with 340 and 380 hp. In the four-cylinder models, the customer can choose between a manual six-speed gearbox and eight-speed automatic. On the higher-end models, the automatic transmission is standard equipment.

The 2015 Jaguar XF has a standard rear-wheel drive configuration, balanced weight distribution, and an optional all-wheel drive.

Inside the car, Jaguar has developed a new infotainment system with the centerpiece being a 10.2-inch display showcasing different content for different angles for both the driver and front passenger. Full-LED headlights, head-up display and modern assistance systems round off the attractive package.
