Just as promised, to celebrate BMW’s 100th anniversary, all the brands owned by the German Group will be getting a Vision Next 100 Concept this year. Today marks the unveiling of two of them, the MINI Vision Next 100 Concept and the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100. The former also received a first video as soon as the veils were taken off, posted below.
The key idea behind the MINI VISION NEXT 100 is responsible use of resources for personal mobility. The motto “Every MINI is my MINI” is about innovative car-sharing, with MINI fans of the future able to access and tailor any MINI to their own personal preferences, anywhere and at any time. The MINI will be available to everybody at all times, picking drivers up autonomously from wherever they like and adjusting the car’s appearance, driving characteristics and connectivity to suit the user’s personal lifestyle. New, customized mobility with the MINI VISION NEXT 100 builds on connected digital intelligence.
As it was the case with the other concepts, the MINI Vision Next 100 doesn’t completely rewrite the book on how a car wearing the winged badge should look like or feel like. Instead, its creators wanted to emphasize some of the characteristics that make a MINI what it is today. Most owners, as shown by a recent study, give names to their small car companions and they consider them to be part of the family.
In this regard, the concept was created to adhere more to the human side of things, turning a MINI car into a true companion. In doing so, artificial intelligence was implemented in its creation, a feature that is supposed to help out a lot in the future. As you can see in the video below, the concept is completely autonomous and talks to you as if it was your friend. Its modular interior is also something we can expect in the future as a number of manufacturers are already working on such solutions.
