German tuning powerhouse AC Schnitzer and California-based HRE Wheels teamed up to turn this BMW i8 into a proper Batmobile. The i8 is often regarded as one of the best looking BMWs ever built, if not, one of the most beautiful cars in the world. With that title, also comes the challenge of improving upon its looks, hence why very few tuners from around the world have adventured into i8 tuning projects.
But AC Schnitzer doesn’t shy away from those challenges therefore it released a body kit tailored to the i8. A carbon middle front spoiler, the carbon bonnet top including middle strut, and the carbon front side wings further emphasize the sporting attributes of the BMW i8. The carbon air outlets at front and rear not only give the i8 that certain visual extra, but also provide a more intelligent structure of the wheel arch vents.
Carbon side skirts on the left and right, in combination with the three-piece carbon rear diffuser, provide the suction effect in the underfloor region of the i8. The result: better pressure distribution and even more downforce. Aesthetically, the BMW i8 by AC Schnitzer with its carbon door handle recesses and mirror covers, the newly restyled BMW kidney grille, AC Schnitzer logos (160 mm) on left and right, and the special Inferno Red Chrome livery, offers that added value for every tuning fan.
The i8 by AC Schnitzer, with 25 mm lowering at the front and 20 mm at the rear, is significantly closer to the road than the standard vehicle, ensuring greater stability in all cornering situations.
This black matte BMW i8 was spotted in Geel, Belgium and, along with the aero kit, it features a set of dark bronze HRE wheels.
