The new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is the latest model of the new 8 Series family to get an M Carbon Roof. From November 2019, the choice of optional extras for the four-door luxury sports car will expand to include an M Carbon roof, which will be available as an individual item for the BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupe and in conjunction with the M Sport package for the other model variants.
As well as creating a look clearly inspired by racing cars, the M Carbon roof brings about a further reduction in weight. The M Carbon exterior package has already been available since launch.
The lightweight package adds small bits of carbon fiber in the front air intakes of the front bumper, carbon fiber covers for the side mirrors and a one-piece trim on the rear bumper encompassing the tailpipes.
The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe will also get interior trim strips in Carbon Fiber which can also be ordered as an optional extra for the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe for the first time.
In the US, prices for the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe start at $84,900 for the new 2020 840i Gran Coupe, $87,800 for the 840i xDrive Gran Coupe and $108,900 for the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe. Pricing does not include $995 Destination.
A maxed out 2020 BMW M850i xDrive could reach $133,000, give or take a few cents.
No word yet on the pricing for the M Carbon Roof.
