It seems like we’re not the only ones comparing the new BMW 1 Series M Coupe against its competitors. BMW UK features on their online website a performance comparison between “the baby-M” and Porsche Cayman S and Audi TT RS.

Just moments ago, we published our photo comparison between the 1M and the Audi counterparts, TT RS and upcoming RS3. This time, the Cayman S gets thrown into the mix. A rear-wheel drive vehicle as well, the Cayman S is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.4 liter six-cylinder engine outputting 320 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque.

Despite being lighter, 1,350 kgs vs. 1,490 for the 1M, the Cayman S is a tad slower, at 5.2 seconds compared to the 4.9 seconds for the BMW.

Audi TT RS features under the hood a 2.5 liter turbocharged direct-fuel-injected inline-5 engine coupled also to a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine produces 340 horsepower and 332lb-ft of torque at 1,600-5,300 rpm (250 kW/ 450 Nm).

The 1M is powered by the N4 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 engine. For the 1M, the turbocharger, exhaust system, and ECU have been revised to produce 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, though up to 369 pound-feet are available temporarily in overboost mode.

Let’s have a look at the comparison chart put together by KeeResources.
